Germany’s interior minister Nancy Faeser visited Morocco on Monday aiming to synchronize bilateral intentions among the two nations.
Items on the agenda included the desire to expedite deportations, encourage the migration of skilled labor, and enhance collaboration with the government on security-related matters, reported German media.
The two-day visit is planned in response to a package of measures that the German official offered to the nation’s administration, with the goal of expediting the repatriation of foreign nationals to Germany.
Given that Moroccan intel services last week revealed clues that enabled the German authorities to thwart a terrorist assault within its borders, the visit coincides with an unprecedented level of security cooperation.
A German-Egyptian national was found and taken into custody after sources learned that he was plotting terrorist actions in Germany, including the bombing of a lorry.
