Strong wind gusts with local dust storms are expected on Friday in certain provinces of Morocco, the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) announced on Thursday evening.
The DGM’s meteorological alert bulletin shows an orange-level warning that these gusts (70-95 km/h) are expected to affect Tétouan, Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen, Chichaoua, Figuig, Guercif, and Taza between noon and 4 P.M. on Friday.
The provinces of Nador, El Hajeb, Ifrane, and Boulemane will also be affected from midnight to 9 P.M. on Friday, according to the DGM.
The Ministry of Equipment and Water urged all road and highway users to exercise caution and vigilance, urging them to postpone their travels until the weather conditions improve.
The Ministry made the DGM’s Permanence Call Center (05.37.71.17.17) and Morocco’s highway call center (5050) numbers available to motorists for any inquiries that may arise.
