The Alaouite Organization for the Promotion of the Blind in Morocco (OAPAM) and the Ministry of National Education has recently inked a partnership agreement to promote the inclusive education for visually impaired children.
The document is meant to support OAPAM educational, training and therapeutic services, as well as to integrate OAPAM’s educational centers within the Ministry’s educational system.
This partnership is fully in line with the roadmap of the 2022-2026 education system reform, which aims notably to strengthen the network of inclusive education facilities that have adequate resources to accommodate students with disabilities in collaboration with partner departments and civil society actors.
Chaired by Princess Lalla Lamia Essolh, OAPAM, created in 1967, has 13 centers located in several regions of Morocco that provide education for the visually impaired children ready to be schooled.
