Tata Advanced Systems, a leading Indian company, has completed the necessary administrative procedures to launch a military vehicle manufacturing plant in Morocco.
Over a year ago, Morocco signed an agreement with Indian companies to produce military vehicles for the Moroccan army.
Mohcine Jazouli, the Moroccan Minister Delegate in charge of Investment, stated that Morocco and India were in talks to jointly produce these vehicles in Morocco to meet local demand and target African and European markets.
Specialized media outlets reported Tata’s participation in the project. The project has progressed significantly with the establishment of a new entity in Morocco, named Tata Advanced Systems Maroc Construction.
This company, registered as a limited liability company (SARL) in April 2024 at the Casablanca Commercial Court, will focus on the development, production, integration, and assembly of military combat vehicles and related equipment.
India has positioned itself as a key player in Morocco’s emerging military industry, outpacing other foreign competitors.
Israeli investments in the sector remain uncertain. Tata Advanced Systems has already delivered 90 6×6 vehicles to the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) for equipment, ammunition, and troop transport.
In March 2022, Moroccan Minister Delegate in charge of Investment Mohcine Jazouli, said the Moroccan government signed an agreement with Indian companies for the construction of Indian vehicles for the Moroccan army.
In January 2023, the FAR received 92 highly mobile multi-axle trucks from Indian manufacturer Tata.
