Several flights between Morocco and Belgium may be canceled on October 1, 2024, due to a national strike at Belgian airports, news outlets reported.
“All flights departing from Brussels Airport (Brussels-Zaventem) are canceled, while Charleroi-Brussels South Airport will operate at 30% capacity due to a national action day by unions in Belgium,” Air Journal reported.
The airport confirms on its website that the cancelation aims to ensure the passengers and staff’s safety.
“To ensure the safety of passengers and staff, airlines, in consultation with Brussels Airport, will not operate any passenger flights on October 1. Airlines are directly informing passengers of their flight cancellations,” the airport said.
Passengers are urged not to go to the airport on Tuesday. This situation is expected to affect around 50,000 travelers, according to the Brussels Times news outlet. Regarding incoming flights, “cancellations are likely,” warns Brussels Airport.
The airport advised all passengers planning to land at Brussels Airport on October 1 to check the status of their flights with their airline.
