The inaugural ministerial conference of the “Russia-Africa Partnership Forum” is scheduled to take place on November 9-10 in Russia’s Sochi city, Anton Kobiakov, Counselor to the Russian President and Executive Secretary of the event’s organizing committee, said in a press conference held at the 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan.
The forum is intended to gather around 1,000 people, including foreign ministers from Russia and African countries, as well as officials from regional organizations, government agencies, and financial institutions.
Kobiakov said that “the African dimension of the BRICS group is one of our -Russian- priorities.”
The mid-October schedule of the Roscongress Foundation noted that the conference will cover a wide range of significant issues on the Russia-Africa agenda.
The participants will address cooperation in security, economy, and social contact, as well as counter-terrorism and preventing a space arms race, according to Roscongress.
Other priority areas, such as skill transfer, public administration digitization, education, training for diplomatic personnel, healthcare, and epidemiological well-being, will also be addressed at the event.
The relationship of African countries with the Eurasian Economic Union also features as one of the conference’s top priorities.
