Morocco has climbed significantly in the World Tourism Organization’s global tourism revenue rankings, moving up ten places from 41st to 31st from 2019 to 2023, Morocco’s Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy announced.
The ministry said that “this strong progress—one of the largest gains among the top 50 global destinations—shows the strength and resilience of Morocco’s tourism sector and the success of its strategies.”
Morocco’s 2023-2026 tourism strategy is counting on reaching 120 billion MAD in tourism revenues by 2026.
To meet this target, the ministry’s strategy focuses on increasing the number of visitors to 17.5 million by 2026 and improving the country’s tourism offerings.
To support these goals, the government plans to expand tourism infrastructure and offer a wider range of experiences for tourists.
