Princess Lalla Meryem presided over the inauguration ceremony of Rabat’s Diplomatic Circle annual Charity Bazaar on Saturday at Morocco’s National Library, Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) reported.
The charity bazaar is a flagship initiative of the Diplomatic Circle, an organization comprising the spouses of heads of diplomatic missions and representatives of international organizations accredited in Morocco. It serves as a platform to celebrate friendship and solidarity while raising funds to support Moroccan NGOs assisting the underprivileged.
After cutting the symbolic ribbon, Princess Lalla Meryem toured various booths displaying a wide collection of artisanal and local products from 46 participating embassies and international organizations.
This year’s bazaar featured contributions from countries across Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, showcasing diverse items such as handicrafts, textiles, and artwork.
Proceeds from the event will fund projects in education, healthcare, and rural women’s development, aligning with the Diplomatic Circle’s mission to promote fraternity, solidarity, and generosity.
The bazaar is also intended to foster mutual understanding and respect among cultures and religions, strengthening ties of friendship between Morocco and the diplomatic community.
